Welcome to Room 15!
Hello Parents,
Welcome to our new classroom webpage. Please check our site regularly as I will be posting information and upcoming events often. We are finally in our new room, and well into the school year. Your child has been working hard at learning our classroom rules, routines and expectations. It can be a very overwhelming time for some children, however I am pleased to say that we have all started to adjust and are having fun.
At Warden we are on a 5 day cycle, not a Monday through Friday schedule. That means that what happens in the class doesn't always happen on a specific day of the week but rather what day in the cycle. So it is important that you keep track of what day in the cycle we are on. Our Warden calendar has all days marked accordingly. Also our Special Helper calendar will also have the days posted. Our class timetable is the following:
Day 1 - gym
Day 2 - computers
Day 3 - dance/drama and gym
Day 4 - library
Day 5 - computers
Now that the weather has begun to change and it is starting to get wetter outside it is important that your child have a pair of shoes that they can leave at school. Running shoes that they can put on and do up independently would be the best. We also will be going outside everyday (even in the winter!) so please make sure you dress your child appropriately. We expect the children to be able to dress themselves independently so if your son or daughter is having trouble putting on their jackets please keep working on it with them at home.
In our class we have a very large number of students who stay for lunch. I would like to stress that if you are at home please take your child home for lunch. A bit of down time and a good lunch is important for your child at this age. The children eat in the classroom with a lunch room supervisor and it makes for a very long day being in the classroom all day. For those children who must stay please make sure that your child has a healthy lunch. Do not send your child with pop or candy. Please be aware that we can not warm a lunch or feed your child. They are expected to eat independently. We will send home all uneaten food so that you know what they are, or are not eating.
Finally, there are still some children who have not returned all of the forms (medical, media release, snack etc.) as of yet. Please return them ASAP, as the information is necessary to ensure your child's safety and their ability to participate fully in classroom and school wide activities.
If you have any further question please feel free to speak to either myself or Mrs. Tanima.
